Pair of Oval Georgian Silver Trays 1804
A matching pair of George III silver trays made in London 1804 by Thomas Ellerton&Richard Sibley. Oval form, on flat bases and with a straight gadroon edge. The bases are slightly recessed for the purpose of containing any liquids from the meat or fowl, which is the purpose for which they were intended, although they would serve multiple uses. Engraved with contemporary armorials and clearly hallmarked on the backs,as shown. 343mm long; 1720grams total weight.
