Geerman Silver Menorah Circa 1890
A solid Silver parcel gilt ( partially gilded ) Menorah ,or Chanukiah, made in Germany in 1890 . The oil holders are formed as recumbent lions, the hinged heads are raised in order to fill the oil, and the lions' mouths are open for inserting the wicks. Complete with the removable " servant " light and the oil can.The backplate also applied with two lions supporting the tablets of stone with the ten commandments engraved. 280 mm maximum width, 1510 grams.Hallmarked on the base as shown.
