George III Sauce Tureen London 1810
An English Sterling Silver sauce tureen made in London 1810 by John Robbins .Oval form,with bellied sides.On 4 shell feet and with shell decorated side handles.Both sides of the tureen and the lid are engraved with a full coat of arms with motto " penser avant parler" ( think before your speak) and with a raised arm brandishing a cutlace.Shell and gadroon around the rim and the lid.Hallmarked on base and cover.230mm across including the handles;15cm high to the top of the finial;1150gms.
