Pair of Victorian Silver  Entree Dishes1839

A  pair of Sterling Silver enree dishes, made in London 1839 by Edward, John, and William Barnard. On matching Old Sheffield Plate warmers. Shaped oblong form, the warmers on four feet. Floral and leaf decoration, the handles formed as fists , clenching fleur-de-lis. The silver dishes: 320 mm x 235 mm; the sheffield plate warmers 350 mm long,including the side handles.4795 grams ( 154 troy oz ) totalweight of silver. Hallmarked on all seperate pieces .

Armorials: William Elphistone Malcom,born in 1817. He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Pulteney Malcom and Clementina Fullerton-Elphinstone. He married Mary Douglas on 15 April 1857. He married Charlotte Elizabeth Leslie-Melville daughter of Hon.Alexander Leslie-Melville and Charlotte Smith on 2 May 1866. He died on 30 December 1907.
